Popis

Celtic Frost pocházeli ze Švýcarska a věnovali se extrémním formám metalu. Vznikli v roce 1981, název Celtic Frost však přijali až o tři roky později. V začátcích se nechali ovlivnit např. Venom, Black Sabbath nebo Judas Priest, ale inspiraci hledali i mezi gothic rockovými kapelami (Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees). Jejich první nahrávky byly klasifikovány jako trash, black nebo death metal, v pozdější fázi jsou Celtic Frost řazeni spíš mezi doom a gothic metalové spolky.
